Jim Crowell’s love is investigating businesses, behavior and the principles of systems. His love of building businesses and progressing fitness began before high school, and it’s continued to be a source of passion for him for over 2 decades.
A double major in Finance & Economics and a Big Ten Tennis Player at Penn State University, Jim cut his chops in finance which led him to his first career as an energy trader for an almost $1 billion energy hedge fund in Columbus, OH and then Austin, TX.
After 5 years at the fund, Jim wanted to revisit his “athlete” and fitness passion, so he built 2 very successful CrossFit gyms in Pittsburgh, PA. After selling those gyms, he left Pittsburgh to explore the world of education and online coaching with OPEX Fitness in Scottsdale, AZ, where he served as its CEO.
After 6 years with OPEX, Jim left to build his advisory and investing firm where he helps companies maximize their performance in and out of the boardroom.
When he isn’t working, Jim’s either spending time with his wife, Katie, and their Border Collie, Ollie, running a mountain trail, talking with his colleagues in masterminds, or tinkering with one of his business or investing projects.
